Sunnybank Elite came out on top in the Under 14s Winton Trophy final beating Dyce 6-2 with a fantastic second half performance after there was nothing to seperate the teams at half time. Two cracking sides served up a cracking cup final for the neutral however Dyce were caught a little bit cold in the second period as Sunnybank Elite won their first ever trophy.
Dyce had the first real chance of the game on six minute with Callum Kelly having a good opportunity go wide after being released through on goal. A good sign of promise from the blue and white hoops however no return in front of goal.
The opening goal of the game arrived on 11 minutes. Cody Whyte was instrumental for Elite and it was a bit of hard work from the young striker that led to the opening goal after breaking through into the box before seeing his initial effort parried by Lewis Munro before Whyte tapped away the opener.
Nogosa Uwadiae almost pulled Dyce level again straight after and Nogosa showed how good a player he is, a good ball by Clark Sharp found the attacker but a good save by Louis Amann denied the Dyce forward.
On 24 minutes, it was 1-1 with Callum Kelly making amends for missing the opening opportunity with a good finish finding the bottom left corner from the edge of the box past Amann to guide Dyce level and was probably important in making this cup final the way it turned out into a good game of football.
Sunnybank re-took the lead once again on 30 minutes after Liam Smith forced a fantastic ball into the area which wasn't cleared properly by the Dyce backline and there was Jackson Bennett in the middle of the park to help his team again with another good finish which gave Munro no chance.
Dyce kicked off straight away after the goal and set their intentions to bring themselves back into the game immediately with the ball being forced out wide before a foul was given on the edge of the box, on 32 minutes. It was 2-2 after a fantastic free kick by Robert Douglas found the top right hand corner to bring Dyce back into the contest.
