Five games to watch in the North Region this weekend - 23/24 February

Written by
Evenly-matched games and some with title-ramifications make up the bul of the big matches in the North Region this weekend. Here are five games to keep an eye out for.
Fraserburgh Link-Up vs Colony Park U16's - ADJFA A League
This will be the second time these teams have faced each other, with the last meeting coming just last week. Colony Park were the victors, winning 3-1 at home.
Fraserburgh will be looking to avenge that defeat on their own turf this time around. These two are very finely poised, with just one point separating the two in the A League, with Link-up holding two games in hand over their opponents.
Banchory Boys vs Newmachar Youth U15's - ADJFA B League
Both of these find themselves in mid-table as they clash this weekend. Newmachar won the previous fixture between the two, securing a very impressive 3-0 triumph. Banchory have performed well this season though and will certainly fancy their chances this Sunday.
The two are tied for points in the B League, however Banchory hold a single game in hand over their opponents and will be looking to use that game to put some distance between them and Youth.
East End Lewis Youth vs Cove Youth U14's - ADJFA A League
Two sides with an outside chance of winning the A League trophy will clash on Sunday. The two sides meet for the first time this season and it is unclear how the match will unfold.
East End are currently five points behind Cove in the league but have two games in hand over their opponents. A win could put them back in contention for the league, whilst a win for Cove could close the gap between them and leaders Banks O'Dee Albion.
Stonehaven Youth FC vs Northstar Community U14's - ADJFA C League Section 1
League leaders Northstar Community have a chance to move even further clear at the top of the first section of the C League. They currently have a four point lead at the top with two games in hand.
Stonehaven will be looking to avenge the 7-1 defeat they suffered at the hands of Northstar earlier in the season and to also close the gap at the top of the table and put themselves right amongst it come the end of the season.
Mintlaw BC vs Cove Youth United U13's - ADJFA C League Section 1
Mintlaw could all but secure top spot in the first section of the C League as they take on their nearest challengers Cove Youth United this Sunday. They are currently seven points ahead over Cove having played the same number of games.
The last meeting between the two was a goalfest, with Mintlaw emerging 5-4 winners in a pulsating game. Here's hoping for the same this weekend.
