Deveronvale Community Football Club picked up a big win at home to Peterhead in the Under 13s Spree B League winning 4-2. Both sides are near the top of the league with the win for the hosts putting Vale above the Buchan side in the table, having both played seven games.

The first period was played at a pulsating pace with both teams going for it from the first whistle. Vale took the lead with the game only four minutes old, a fantastic ball came in by Ryan Morrison which was met by Jack Sutherland who slotted the ball home from close range.

Vales lead only lasted five minutes with Peterhead level soon afterwards after Ricky Milne got into a really good area for the visitors before breaking into the box and firing a good effort into the bottom left hand corner.

Peterhead kept the mometum going and took the lead on 13 minutes. A quick throw-in saw the visitors go on a bolstering attack and the ball eventually came to Joseph Mackey who guided home a fine effort.

It was end to end action at Myrus and Vale made their intent known by levelling again just four minutes later after a loose ball found Ryan Morrison who then, with a piece of individual brilliance, guided an audacious lob over Josh Morrison in the visiting goal.

Vale took the lead on 33 minutes after Jack Sutherland went on a fantastic run before rounding Morrison and placing the ball into an empty net to give the Banff side the lead once again.

The second half had nothing on the first half, with lots of possession battles to be had and with very little chances. One of the first chances of the half resulted in a goal for Deveronvale on 49 minutes with a brilliant free kick from Ryan Morrison finding the net.

Peterhead had a few attempts towards the business end of the game to try and rescue the game, with Joshua Strachan playing an excellent ball into Koby Buchan which hit the post. Liam Cormackn eventually tipped the ball away for a Peterhead corner.

Both sides continued to play some fantastic football on what was a cold day for the big crowd in attendance, a diagonal ball nearly killed off the game for the hosts with Taylor Barron getting on the end of the pass however the midfielders effort went just wide.

A fantastic game between two sides who will do well this season, the second half not living up to the expectations and standards that the first half had however a enthralling game of football all the same. Both sides will be looking for a top half finish in the B league this campaign and either side have every right to be confident about a top half finish based on their performances in this game.
