Two second half goals from Banks O'Dee were enough for the Spain Park outfit to come away with the Highland League championship at Under 17s. Finlay Ness and Caie McDonald got the goals for the Spain Park side in what was a magnificent second half showing from the Aberdeen side. The match was a play-off between the champions of the North and East sections of the league.
The first half was a stale affair on what was an overcast day at Station Park, Nairn. Wick had the first chance of the game with Ben Sinclair having a free kick go wide. Academy enjoyed a lot of possession during the opening exchanges of the game.
Banks O'Dee threatened after seven minutes with Finlay Ness finding Dylan Stuart with the captain going through on goal however his effort was denied by a good stop from Archie Budge in the Wick goal. Harry Ingram then had a chance for Dee on 29 minutes with a free kick going wide.
Another good save from Budge kept the scoreline 0-0 at half time after Wick didn't clear their lines and the ball fell kindly to Ness from a wide angle however his effort was straight at the talented goalkeeper.
