A good team performance from Inverurie Loco Works was enough for the Sunnybank Shield to be heading back to Harlaw Park, completing the double for this season after their recent league success. Locos won 3-0 with a goal in the first half followed by a couple in the second half.

It was a very sunny day at Heathryfold Park with a couple of water breaks required from both sides on a day where it was more like Benidorm than Northfield. Locos had a good opening chance through Josh Christie which was tipped over the bar by Craig Robb in the Hermes goal.

Both sides were having some good posession however there was a limit in the amount of chances both teams had, it was still a good cup final with both teams trying their best.

Inverurie took the lead after 26 minutes, a short corner from Adam Smith found Reece Brown who fired home into the roof of the net to give Locos the lead, the game required a goal after a stern start to the game.

Hermes came into the game towards the closing exchanges of the first half and had a few good chances to draw level, a Ryan Corthals chance was straight at Keller Emslie followed by a header from Cameron Cook denied by a good save from Emslie.

A long range effort from Cameron Watt 11 minutes after the turnaround went wide of the left hand post after a good build up, it was a good cup final however a lack of chances for both sides in front of goal.

Locos stepped up their game in the closing exchanges of the cup final with Locos going 2-0 up after 84 minutes, Harrison Hinks showed some good moves to drive past the Hermes defence before firing home from close range through Craig Robbs legs.

The scoring was complete on 90 minutes, Cameron Watt found Adam Smith who slid the ball into the bottom left hand corner from 14 yards out to complete a good day at the office for Inverurie Loco Works FC. Well done to Inverurie Loco Works and commiserations to Hermes Youth FC.
