Turriff United Under 13s beat Blackburn 8-1 at home to seal the C League Section 2 and gain promotion to the B league for season 2018-2019.
Turriff United, like Northstar Orange who won the C League section 1 recently, have shown they are capable of playing in the B league, however they were in the same Regional Trophy group as Middlefield Wasps who are doing well in the A league and Fraserburgh Link-Up who are mid-table in the B league with Kintore United in the group too.
Turriff let their feelings known early on in the game playing some impressive football in the first half, United took the lead on four minutes with a ball from Callum Robertson finding Finlay Davidson who knocked the ball home, Turriff set their stalls on the game very quickly with Robertson having a chance before the goal going just wide.
Oliver Morgan then got the second goal on 14 minutes with a superb overhead kick after Daniel Liebnitz had an initial shot on goal denied which was only parried by the Blackburn defence and Morgan had some time and space to execute an overhead kick which evaded everyone and went in.
Turriff United then had three goals in the space of four minutes with Morgan getting his second goal of the game after beating the offside trap and firing home a good finish, the whole team played well for Turriff but Morgan was a real stand-out for the hosts.
Callum Robertson then got himself on the scoresheet with a free kick with the hosts playing some great football in a five minute period. Morgan then got a six minute hat-trick courtesy of a tap-in. Callum Seivwright made it 6-0 just before the interval for Turriff United with a guided finish.
