A fantastic performance from Kincorth Academy was enough for the South Aberdeen outfit to take home the Esso Trophy. Kincorth turned on a good show against an Aberdeen Grammar outfit who looked a lot better than the scoreline suggested.
Kincorth opened the scoring with the game only a minute old when a Josh Robb free kick was knocked onto the crossbar by Fraser Bruce and Kasen Seed was there to knock home the rebound from close range to kick start proceedings.
The game went stale for a period afterwards in the game however Kincorth went 2-0 up after 22 minutes when a lobbed effort from Jamie Rennie evaded both the Grammar goalkeeper and his backline to give Kincorth some breathing space in this cup final. It wasn't a one sided game by any stretch, however Kincorth were on a different level.
It was 3-0 with seven minutes until half time when Seed guided the ball home past Bruce to treble Kincorths lead going into half time, Grammar tried to play football however whenever they got into the final third, they couldn't muster out clear cut chances.
