A five star display from Northstar Orange was enough for the Aberdeen side to win the C League Section one. In the regional trophy at the start of the season, Orange had Cove and Peterhead in their group, Cove are Scottish Cup finalists and Peterhead are currently 2nd in the B league so they were in a strong league, however they have taken it in their stride and have achieved promotion.

Newmachar started the game the better side with Northstar Orange slightly disorganized. Niall Brown was first to test the Orange backline for the hosts however his tame effort went straight to Archie Stephen. Niall McPherson then had a free kick which Stephen dealt with well.

Northstar Orange's first shot on target resulted in the visitors breaking the deadlock after 18 minutes when Jay Taylor Donald played in Conal Cheshire who half volleyed a fine effort low and hard into the back of the net to set the scene in this contest.

Cheshire should have gotten a second 10 minutes before the interval for the visitors when he rounded Newmachar goalkeeper Matthew Cook, however the Newmachar defence blocked his goal bound effort. There was very little to separate the teams going into half time.

There were a few stern words said in the visiting changing room at half time and a few changes were made. A different Northstar side came out for the second half with some enjoyable football being played, you can't take anything away from Newmachar United though who enjoyed some good passages of play in the game.

Cheshire got his second goal of the game two minutes after the turnaround with a curled strike into the bottom right hand corner giving Cook no chance. Cheshire was a real handful up front for the visitors, showing a physical presence alongside showing he has a real eye for goal as well.

A lovely ball from Michael Ibizube led to Northstar Orange's third goal when he played in a good ball to Joe Stephen who slotted home past the Newmachar backline to put the visitors into a comfortable position.

Northstar Orange are really good at interchanging passes when they click together as a team and this was pure evidence after they scored a fourth. A good ball by Jay Taylor Donald was met by Joe Stephen who knocked home a fine header, the Newmachar defence put in the effort to thwart the ball from crossing the line however the header was too much to handle.

Ibizube rounded off a good day at the office for the visitors after he curled a fine effort into the top left hand corner from the edge of the box. This is a good Northstar Orange team who will get more of a challenge next season playing in the B league.

Northstar have scored 123 goals in only 13 games, conceding only five and shouldn't really be in the C league, however the way the regional trophy has been structured out means they have had to deal with playing in a lower grade of football, although it's good to win football games, Northstar won't have learned much from most of their respective encounters neither would have some of the teams who have taken some serious hammerings this season.
