A goal from Lewis MacDonald four minutes before the interval gave Culter United three big points as the race to be crowned A league champions at Under 16s level this season hots up.
Lewis United gained a big result on Thursday night, beating Banks O’Dee Albion, however the league championship is far from decided, with a lot of football still to be played.
Lewis went at Culter United in the opening exchanges of the game. A ball from Josh Gerrard found Josh Petrie whose effort went wide. The visitors were enjoying some good possession although Lewis started the game rather slow.
Orin Collin then played in Petrie who was denied by Kyle Leiper in the visiting goal. Petrie also had an attempted lob denied by Leiper as the hosts wasted chances to break the deadlock.
A free kick from Cole Anderson in the 22nd minute was Culter United’s first big chance of the game and Anderson forced a good save from Balint Demus in the hosts goal.
Culter went ahead with four minutes until the interval when Mitchell Wilson Argo played in Lewis MacDonald who fired home from close range, giving Demus in the hosts goal no chance. Based on overall play, Culter probably just about deserved to go into half time in front.
