The midweek fixtures kicked off on Tuesday night with some great games and some big results along the way including teams at the top of their respective leagues dropping points.
Ellon Meadows recovered from Sunday’s defeat to Elite by getting a 1-1 draw with Banks O’Dee Albion in the A league. Albion have been in fine form of late so it’s a good point from Ellon’s perspective, with a lot of games to follow for them. Dyce vs Cove in the A league was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Colony Park are doing well in the B league and continued that with an 8-1 win over Fraserburgh Link-Up last night. Blackburn FC vs Colony Colts in C League Section 2 was postponed.
All games postponed
Two games got the go ahead with Deveronvale playing Peterhead Jags and Banks O’Dee Albion hosting CBC Hilton. All four teams concerned are currently in the top four. Peterhead Jags recovered from a few sore defeats with a 3-2 win away at Vale. Banks O’Dee Albion and CBC Hilton drew 4-4, with the hosts in pole position to pick up their 1st league title.
Fraserburgh Link-Up recovered from their Castle Trophies Cup defeat to Lewis United by beating them on league duty 3-1. Fraserburgh have had a range of mixed results this season in the league and it was a good win ahead of a tough cup match against Banchory this Saturday.
Lewis United can’t dwell too much on the result with a big game against Banks O’Dee Albion tomorrow night. A win for Lewis will extend the gap to five points at the top where as a win for Albion and the Spain Park outfit will leapfrog Lewis. Albion won 5-1 away to Colony Park. Turriff United won 6-0 away to Huntly in the C League.
Peterhead beat Fraserburgh Link-Up 3-2 in a local derby in the A league with another local derby taking place at Deeside, where Banchory won 4-2 against Stonehaven in the B League.
There were A league wins for Banchory and Banks O’Dee Albion over Culter Colts and Culter Boys. Fraserburgh Link-Up beat Huntly 5-3 in the B league.
