Vale 13s seal semi final date

Written by

Deveronvale marched through to the semi-finals of the Under 13s Regional Trophy after a 2-1 win at home to Formartine United. Formartine took the lead thanks to Matthew Threadgold.

The hosts then drew level after a corner kick was floated in by Brodi Smith & the ball unwittingly struck the face of a Formartine player & into the back of the net.

Vale then sneaked in a late winner to avoid extra time after Smith squared the ball to Lucas Sey who evaded a couple of tackles & his effort was blocked before falling to Marc Evans who slotted the ball across the goal to the keepers left hand side.  This win earned Vale a semi-final against Elite after they beat Banks O’Dee Albion away from home 2-1.

The Banff outfit have another home tie against Westdyke this weekend before their last 16 Scottish Cup game against Ferry Athletic.

It was to be a good weekend all round for Deveronvale with Deveronvale Colts Under 16s beating Huntly 6-0 on Saturday before wins for Deveronvale 15s & 14s over Colony Park & City Youth respectively.
