Glentanar hosted Deveronvale in an all 'B' League third round clash in the Colony Park Cup.
The home side came out early hunting for an early goal. All the early pressure payed off, a scramble outside the penalty area fell to William Almberg who got his shot away quickly and score to give the home side an early 1-0 lead. The hosts carried on with their fantastic start to the game putting a lot of pressure on the visitors giving them no time on the ball.
Almberg had another opportunity to make it 2 when he went on a good run going past a couple of players but unfortunately for him he missed kicked it and it rolled into the keepers hands Glentanar looked hungry for more.
Deveronvale had their first opportunity 7 minutes in when Leyton Boyd had a good effort saved by Reece Main. Glentanar had another good chance when Nathan Bloice’s corner was met by Jan Polanski who failed to hit the target.
It was end to end the game, chance after chance and straight after Polanski missed the chance Deveronvale went up the other and when Oro Taylor went one on one with Reece Main he thought he was going to make it 1-1 but Reece Main stood tall and made a brilliant save to keep his side in front.
Glentanar finally got their second of the match and Almberg also got his brilliant play from Cooper smith down the right allowed him to use his strength to get the better of Jordan Johnstone and when the ball broke loose from his cross, Almberg was alert to tap in
Deveronvale won a free kick 25 yards out, Steven Jaimieson forced Reece Main to make a top drawer save. Only a minute later Main pulled off another brilliant save when Callum Begg took a shot from distance.
Brodie Mackie started pulling off saves as well, a brilliant run from Darren Millson and he done well to get the shot away and he forced a good stop from Brodie Mackie.
Darren Millson's crossing was very good during the first half but nobody was getting anywhere in the box but finally with 6 minutes to go till half time he swung another great cross into the box and James Wallace’s glancing header put the home side 3-0 and into the driving seat.

Glentanar started the first few minutes of the second half just as they did in the first, pressing high on the ball but substitute goalkeeper for Deveronvale Robert Mitchell was keeping the visitors in the game.
The away side looked a lot more at the back at the start of the second half not letting many players past and once they started pressing high up the pitch they looked dangerous. All the pressing came to something when Callum Begg picked the ball up midway in the Glentanar half went past two and slotted home to get visitors back into the match.
Only seconds after the restart Deveronvale won the ball back good play from Oro Taylor gave him space for the shot a brilliant save from the sub keeper Robert Mitchell wasn’t enough to keep the visitors out when Bruce Esslemont smashed the into the back of the net with the rebound.
With 15 to go a defensive lapse allowed Nathan Bloice who slotted home from a hard angle to put the home side back in the driving seat.
Another good run from Callum Begg as he found himself one on one with the keeper but a poor challenge from behind from Leighton Hall gave Deveronvale a chance to get back in the game again. Steven Jamieson stepped up for Deveronvale and sent the ball in the side netting to give his side a glimmer of hope.
A brilliant game between two sides and nothing could really split the two sides throughout the match but Deveronvale were unlucky not to get anything out the match showing very good courage in the second half.

William Almberg played very well getting past players often and his two goals set him on his way to a good game so all round a good performance for Almberg
Callum Begg had a very good game going past a lot of players with ease he scored the goal of the game, he was causing Glentanar a lot of problems when on the ball.

William Almberg's first goal it was a brilliant strike shot from distance the keeper had no chance.
Callum Begg’s goal the way he beat Kieran Hurley and put the ball past the keeper with ease and all round with the passing and the move itself the best goal of the game.
