Wednesday saw the Scottish Youth FA draw the ties for the fourth round of the inspiresport Scottish Youth FA Cup, hot on the heels of a packed weekend of third round action. The last 32 stage will take place on the weekend of November 19th & 20th. It is the penultimate round of the calendar year, with round five scheduled for early December, before the winter break.
At the Under 13 age group teams are pursuing their first ever attempt at this famous national competition. Teams from all six regions remain in the competition, with five of the regions hosting ties and the South West's Galston and Irvine Victoria playing away ties.
There are a number of stand out ties. Northstar CFC from Aberdeen were the first out of the hat and they are looking to continue their exciting journey into unchartered territory. They've drawn another home tie against Carbrain, who will be hoping to fare better than Westerton United.
One tie that brings together two teams with a fine record in this competition is Dyce's trip to Spartans. Dyce (pictured, right) won three Scottish Cups in a row, with the last coming in 2010/11, but since then Spartans have won four of their own. Another tie bringing together two teams who will expect to go far is Blue Brazil vs Lewis United. Both have won Scottish Cups in recent years and will be hoping to go far this year.
Gairdoch United won a Glasgow City Cup with many top teams, so if they can get through their tie against Renfrew, will provide a stern test for Galston. Gala Fairydean Rovers fly the flag for the Scottish Borders, with a trip to Giffnock.
