Watson ending 2001's role with success

Banks O’Dee Under 15's made it a double whammy at Glenury Park, Stonehaven, after a 4-1 win over Culter Boys. Albion won the league, at 13's and 14's, and picked up the Stonehaven Youth Trophy at the 15's age group.

Coach Greg Watson won trophies with Albion as a player, with the 1996 age group, and is following the coaching route with Albion alongside his playing duties with Aberdeen Junior side Hermes JFC.

Watson spoke about the game saying, “Albion winning the trophy is a great way to end the season for us. We played really well with some good football and great games and I thought we were the better team. We were limited to 11 boys today and they all did us proud.

“We should maybe have had a couple more goals, their goalkeeper has made two really good saves. It’s good to end on a high and the boys are chuffed that they got their medals. Cup finals are what you want to play in and win. The club thrives on that and that’s what we have done.

“I won things as a player and it’s definitely good to see these lads winning things as well. It’s my last game with this age group after three years. I am moving down to one of the younger teams now so there will be a new challenge ahead.”

Banks O'Dee goalscorers were: SAMUEL CHIAEDZIEM UKAH, EUAN REID, ADAM CARTER and OWEN DUFF.
