ADJFA mid-season review (August 2015 to January 2016)
Under 13s A league
The under 13s A league has some decent sides in it this season with Dyce leading the way at the top with Banks O’Dee currently 2nd. Lewis United Youth will be up there this season though as they've only played three league games this season.
Under 13s B league
Peterhead Jags and Newtonhill currently have a 100% record with the latter playing two games less. CBC Hilton also have a 100% record, however, have only played two competitive league games during the season so far.
Under 13s C league
Two places available for promotion to the B league and amongst the battlers are, Insch and District, Kintore United and Newmachar United. It will be a feisty battle to see who comes out as league champions at the end of it.
Under 14s A league
Culter United and Lewis United Youth are currently at the top of the league with the same points having played the same games. Culter went to Spain Park on the 17th of January and came away with a superb 2-0 win.
Culter have brought in some players from Albion during the summer and Albion have had a different squad compared to what they had last season when they won the Scottish cup.
Under 14s B league
Donside Juvenile and Middlefield Wasps are currently at the top and both sides still have a 100% record. Middlefield still have a game in hand over Donside and a victory would put them level on points with the Alford outfit.
Under 14s C league (Section 1)
Culter Cobras are currently top of the league with 15 points and a fine run of games in the coming weeks will have them on course to run away with the league.
Under 14s C league (Section 2)
Paul Lawrie Foundation are currently top of the league with seven wins out of seven. Kintore United lie in 2nd place and if they win their game in hand then they will cut the deficit on Paul Lawrie to five points.
Under 15s A league
Banks O’Dee are currently top of the league, however, rivals Lewis United have four games in hand on the Spain park outfit. Lewis have a busy schedule coming up including a quarter final Scottish cup tie against Hutchison Vale a week on Sunday.
Under 15s B league (Section one)
It’s a two horse race at the top between Colony Park and Deveronvale and if Vale win their game in hand then the Banffers will go top of the league.
Under 15s B league (Section two)
Ellon Meadows currently sit top of the league, however, if Glentanar win their game in hand then they will go three points clear of the Aberdeenshire outfit. Middlefield Wasps are currently third and a win for them in their game in hand will put them three points behind Ellon.
Under 16s A league
Banks O’Dee Albion have picked up from where they left off and are still top. They have lost a few good players in the summer, however, have recruited very well. Lewis United can cut the deficit to five points if they win their games in hand.
Colony Park lost striker Adam Smith to Lewis United in the summer however have had a successful season to date only dropping points on two occasions.
Under 16s B league
Newmachar United were promoted to the B league at U14's level and are currently in pole position at the top. However, they face stiff competition from Banchory and Glentanar.
Under 16s C league
Top of the pile at the moment is Turriff Bombers who have recruited well in the summer and brought in players from the now defunct Deveronvale who were in the A league. This has paid off for the Aberdeenshire outfit who are now top with nine wins out of nine. It’s looking like Colony Colts will finish second, however, will have to fight with Formartine United for the slot.
Under 17s A league
Top at the moment are Banks O’Dee Albion with eight wins and one defeat, however, they face competition from Fraserburgh Link-Up and Culter who still represent the North region in the Scottish Cup. Formartine United have strengthened in the past few weeks and will be wanting to have a challenge of their own.
Under 17s B league
Banchory Swifts are currently top of the pile with nine wins and a draw. Byron Swifts still have games in hand on the clubs at the top and if they win their three games in hand, they will jump into 2nd above Kemnay and Huntly.
Under 19s A league
It’s an interesting battle at the top between Glentanar, Formartine United and Deveronvale with Glentanar currently at the top. However, Formartine will go level on points if they win their game in hand.
Under 19s B league
Dee are not at the top at the moment, however, provided they win their games in hand then they look odds on to run away win the league this season.
