Middlefield Wasps beat Westdyke by six goals to three in an entertaining A League clash at Beach Park in Balmedie.

Middlefield had the game’s first real chances as Cameron Bisset’s effort was saved by Simon Mitchell in the Westdyke goal with Connor McAllister putting the rebound just wide. Then Jack Burnett made a great and his shot was saved by Mitchell.

They took the lead in the eighth minute as Finlay Runcie’s corner from the left hand side went into the goal to give the hosts the lead.

Westdyke had their first real opportunity of the match as Joe Gibbon’s corner from the right found Reece McNab whose shot went just over the bar.

Jack Slessor scored Westdyke's equaliser when a long range effort from outside the box found the back of the net.

Westdyke took the lead as Gibbon’s corner from the right found Calvin Meldrum whose shot found the back of the net to give the away side the lead.

Middlefield equalised minutes later as Bisset scored after being put through and his low shot hit the post before going into the goal to make it 2-2.

Seconds after the equaliser Westdyke regained their lead as Meldrum was put through and he finished to put the away side ahead.

Middlefield equalised just before the interval as Tyler Carr’s low shot from a narrow angle from inside the left hand of the box found the back of the net for 3-3.
