Bervie Caley put five past Middlefield as they won 5-0 in the B League clash at Aberdeen’s Aulton Outdoor Pitches. A double from David Salmond and strikes from Joseph McLaughlin, Elliot Boyd and David Blacklaw secured all three points for the Kincardineshire side.
Bervie scored the game’s opening goal on two minutes as a pass from the left found McLaughlin who finished with a low strike from inside the right of the box to give Caley a one goal lead.
Bervie looked to extend their lead and a Blacklaw corner from the left was volleyed just wide by Will Montgomerie as the away side nearly doubled their advantage.
Bervie had two other chances to make it 2-0 as Matthew Morris had a free kick well saved by Sam Barbour in the Middlefield goal, then McLaughlin’s ambitious chip from inside the box went just over the bar.
The away were rewarded for their efforts as they made it 2-0 when Morris’ pass found Salmond who finished from inside the right of the box to double his side’s lead.
Middlefield had two chances of their own as Greg Will’s effort from outside the box went just wide of the target, then Kami Khorasani’s half volley from inside the box took a deflection and was saved by Bervie goalkeeper Tyler Ross Leisk.
