Fixture: ADJFA U17's B League
Competition: Kintore United v Culter Colts
Culter Colts put in a very impressive professional display to beat Kintore United away from home.
Culter came flying out of the blocks and soon won a corner when a Gregor Duncan shot was blocked. The corner was whipped in by James McMahon and an unmarked Aiden Stewart powered the header home for his first goal for the club.
Kintore began to come back into the game but the Colts held firm and limited them to shots from range.
The 1st half was a very even affair with not a lot of chances for either team and finished with the visitors 1-0 up.
The second half began as the first finished with not between the sides however about half way through the second half the Colts made it 2-0. The goal came after a fast counter attacking move when James McMahon set James Clydesdale down the left who in turn played an excellent switch of play to Gregor Duncan to close in on goal and finish low past the Kintore keeper.
Kintore continued to press to find a way back into the match but could not break down the Culter rear guard and a third followed with about 5 minutes left on the clock. Another counter attack from the Colts was stopped when McMahon drove through the middle and was taken down 30 yards out from goal. From the resulting freekick it was McMahon himself who hit a trademark strike past the keeper to put his side 3-0 up.
Kintore almost grabbed a consolation goal right at the end with their best chance of the game when a header from a corner was saved brilliantly by Callum McKinley in the Culter goal.
In all it was an excellent and well deserved 3 points for the Colts who move back into 2nd place in the league.
