Culter put in strong performance to shock Dyce

Written by  Culter United

Fixture: Culter United v Dyce BC
Competition: Under 13's ADJFA "A" League
Venue: Corbie Pitch
Date: 15/03/15
The game took place in near perfect conditions today both in terms of weather and the Corbie pitch.
The home side got of to a flyer with some neat inter passing resulting in a first minute goal from the Culter left winger Kyle Simons.
This was followed 15 minutes later by an excellent take by Rhys Thomas who only moments after coming on to replace the hard working Bruce Webster, when he latched on to a through ball from Mitch Argo to slot the ball past the Dyce Keeper.
Culter continued the pressure in the first half and this was rewarded moments before half time when Rhys Thomas completed his brace with a very similar goal to his first. Allowing his team to go in 3-0 up at half time.
Dyce came out in the second half and played in a fashion that showed why they have had such a strong season so far with only 1 defeat in 9 matches coming into today's fixture.
Their efforts were rewarded half way through when the Dyce striker got in behind the Culter defence and passed the ball past the Culter goalie. This was followed by a couple of shots from distance that were saved by Arran Broch the Culter Keeper.
Dyce then changed formation to a 3 up front attacking formation that kept the bulk of play in the Culter half. However the Culter midfield and defence looked equal to most of the visiting team pressure and looked dangerous on the break.
Stand out performance went to Stevie Alexander who shaded the midfield battle against a strong Dyce opponent.
A good game played in good spirit ended 3-1 to a deserving Culter.
