The Under 13 age group of the South East Region YFL has been fantastic to watch this season. Hutchison Vale stole the show with the Scottish Cup and 6 other trophies, but it wasn't all about them with Tynecastle equalling their league points total and 7 other teams sealing silverware.

YFS has managed to send a lot of reporters to games at this age group. We've also had a lot of match reports sent in. Based on these we have put together a team of the season of those who have impressed our journalists.

It is important to state that we have only seen each of these players a handful of times and we are in no way saying they have been the best over the course of the season. That's where you come in! If there's someone more deserved of a place in the squad then post a reply and let us know.

Goalkeeper
Jamie Mitchell (Hutchison Vale)

Defenders
Calum Downie (Edinburgh United)
Kacper Balaban (Hutchison Vale)
Murray Rose (Tynecastle)
Rhys Dickson (Tynecastle)

Midfielders

Jay Kilboy (Musselburgh Windsor)
Harry Girdwood (Hutchison Vale)
James Kerr (Musselburgh Youngstars)

Strikers
Fareid Yassein (Hutchison Vale)
Jay Willis (Musselburgh Windsor)

Subs
Ben Corrall (Hutchison Vale Colts)
Calum Watson (Hutchison Vale)
Deschamp McDelling (Edinburgh United)
Robbie Polson (Hutchison Vale)
Jamie Docherty (Hutchison Vale)
Tod Rowell (Tynecastle)

As a coach of Musselburgh Youngstars I would agree that James Kerr deserves his place but I would also make a case for Connor Ramsay of Musselburgh Youngstars who has been tremendous all season and has attracted praise from every coach of the teams that we have played this season.

A lot of good young players in this age group and not all can gt in,a few that deserve a mention are Liam Crombie scoring 50 goals for Tynecastle 99s,Danny Mackinnon who was a powerhouse in midfield for the 99s and Joshua Fital scoring 20+ goals from left/right back position also Tynecastle 99s,granted i saw more of Tynie but saw gd players from other teams in the league..striker from Bonnyrigg Rose very fast and skilful,Center Half from Fernieside gd in the air and not much gt past him,Edinburgh United goalie Fraser i think was gd also.I felt the 2nd Div was far more competitive also with anyone of 4 or 5 teams could have won the League. But Well Done to all the Teams and Boys and Good Luck for next season.

No, I'm afraid not, it's just a paper based team put together by our journalists.

Okay but in future years will this happen as I've seen other age groups play for their regions before?
