Townhill of Fife visited the Capital to take on Hutchison Vale in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup. Last season the Dunfermline based outfit were the surprise package of the competition, reaching the quarter final stage before falling to eventual winners Tynecastle. They traveled to Edinburgh hoping to fare better against Tynecastle's great rivals, who won the competition at the Under 13 age group and currently top the South East Region YFL's top flight.
Form in the Fife Football Development League may be inconsistent, but there has been no stopping Townhill on their quest for Scottish Cup glory. St Andrews Colts, Kinnoull and Gourock YAC Reds have been swept aside so far, with just one goal being conceded by the Fifers. Vale had been in similarly imrpessive form, firing over 20 goals past Linlithgow Rose, Coltswood Colts and Fauldhouse.
The home side started brightly and grabbed the game's opening goal. However Townhill hit back and scored through Jack George to level the scores at the break.

Hutchie had their chances in the second half but came up against a resolute Townhill defence and a combination of excellent defending and near misses prevented the home side from re-taking the lead.
At the other end, Townhill were clinical. Aaron Baxter skipped past two players and into the area, before drilling a shot low into the bottom corner.
As Vale looked for an equaliser the tie was settled in the Fife side's favour. Kieran Annandale found the right hand corner from a free kick, to send the visiting players and support wild.
Townhill held on and secured an impressive victory that will make the rest of the competition sit up and take notice.
