Kennoway United won the Under 17s league cup after a 3-0 victory over St John's Perth on a hot morning in Fife. Goals from David Neil, Ryan Armour and Jack Mowatt secured the cup victory for Kennoway.
The game started very quickly and Kennoway got off to the perfect start when they took the lead on 3 minutes. A corner whipped in from the right was fantastically headed home by defender David Neil. It was the most ideal start for Kennoway but not the beginning St John's had in mind.
Kennoway kept up their dominant start and come close to doubling their lead with  talismanic striker Ryan Armour seeing two effort narrowly missing the target. Kennoway were geting close to a second goal and came within inches of scoring when Andrew Mitchie's shot took a deflection and forced a smart save from St John's goalkeeper Colin McDonald.
St John's first chance came on 15 minutes when a cross from the left was headed just wide by Duncan Watson.
Kennoway then doubled their lead on 18 minutes after some great work down the right by Ryan Muir. Muir showed great pace to get past his man then cut the ball back to Ryan Armour who blasted the ball home from 8 yards.
Kennoway were completely dominant with little resistance from St John's. They could have added a third on 25 minutes when Jack Mowatt burst through and lobbed the 'keeper only for the ball to be cleared off the line.
Kennoway put on a very impressive first half display looking good both defensively and going forward and thoroughly deserved their half time lead.

The second half began evenly with St John's looking to get themselves back in the game. St John's were slightly more dominant in possession and almost clawed a goal back on 57 minutes when Linsay Murdoch rose well but his header fell the wrong side of the post.
St John's were then awarded a penalty on the hour when Jordan Austin brought down Steven Young in the box. Duncan Watson took the spotkick but it was saved by Kennoway 'keeper Campbell Pratt. A wasted chance by Watson to get his team back in the game.
The penalty miss proved costly as Kennoway got their third goal and sealed the win on 77 minutes when Jack Mowatt burst through the middle and emphatically blasted the ball into the top corner, beyond the reach of Colin McDonald.
Kennoway saw the remainder of the game out with neither side creating any chances. A deserved win for Kennoway who will be delighted to end the season with a piece of silverware.
