Elgin Star won the Toorie Winters Cup after a 2-1 win over Aberdour in a tight contest in Crossgates. Goals from Ethan Anderson and Calvin Kirkwood secured a memorable win.

The game started with Elgin on top but the failed to create many goalscoring opportunities in the early stages of the game. The first chance came on 12 minutes when a cross fell to Ethan Anderson whose improvised header floated just wide.

Elgin continued to dominate but couldn't find a way through a resilient Aberdour defence. Sean Stewart, Calum Reid and Malvern Edson all saw long range efforts miss the target.

Star finally opened the scoring on the stroke of half time when a scramble in the Aberdour penalty box, the ball finally fell to Ethan Anderson who made no mistake in putting the chance away. A deserved goal for Elgin who dominated the majority of the first half.

Half Time: Elgin Star Under 16s 1-0 Aberdour Under 16s

Aberdour started the second half looking to find an equaliser but got off to a terrible start when 2 minutes into the second half Elgin's Ethan Anderson saw his shot blocked on the line but from the rebound Calvin Kirkwood fired home.

Elgin continued to dominate and could have added a third on 57 minutes when Michael Joyce was played through but his attempted lob over the 'keeper missed the target.

Aberdour began to come back into the game and got a goal back with 5 minutes remaining when a long ball over the top sent Connor Kirton through and he finished emphatically. Unfortunately for Aberdour they couldn't find a way through for an equaliser and Elgin held on to take the cup.
