The game started off evenly with both sides feeling each other out, the first attempt on goal came after 5 minutes with a shot wide by Adam Kerr.

Kelty followed this with their own first attempt on goal after 7 minutes. Aberdour then started to dominate the game with a number of shots on goal both on and off target, with the break through finally coming after 15 minutes following a corner sent in by Sean Johnstone, Conor Hay converted the final cross back into the box for the first goal of the game. This was then quickly followed by goal number two a cross from the left by Callum Bringhurst which was swept into the net by Sean Johnstone.

Aberdour continued to dominate the half with a number of chances that should have been taken and made the game more comfortable in the first half, but inevitability a simple long ball over the top caught Lewis Hamill and the rest of the Aberdour defence off guard, the calamity was finalised by Lewis pulling back the attacker. Kelty converted the resulting free kick with a shot into the roof of the net.

The second half continued in much the same vein as the first with Aberdour continuing to dominate with a number of chances again being missed.

Aberdour got their reward for the hard work in the 53rd minute with a fine individual effort from Conor Hay following a pass placed through by Stuart Blake. Kelty then started to make one or two passes and gain some confidence, which lead to a second goal for them on 60 minutes which was followed 5 minutes later with a another fine long range shot which resulted in tying the game 3 a piece.

The third goal from Kelty encouraged Aberdour, who then stepped up the work rate which resulted in the award of a free kick on the edge of the 18 yard box on the 70th minute which Sean Johnstone calmly placed into the top right hand corner of the net to give Aberdour back the lead, this was followed three minutes later by a Sean Johnstone corner kick which was well meet by Stuart Blake’s head and flew into the back of the net to make it 5 - 3 to Aberdour, this finally broke Kelty's sprit and the game ended with out further incident.
