A tale of two halves as Dens victor

The scoreline may suggest that this match was somewhat of a one sided affair, but in reality both teams gave it their all, only in the second half did the visitor's secure the points.
 
Montrose had the first opening of the match, but after that Dundee were the ones pushing the issue. After several good opportunities missed, they finally broke the deadlock after half an hour or so. Montrose defender Shawn Farrar's miscued clearance fell to McLeod, who finished well from an acute angle.
 
Both teams had chances to score before the break but neither could add to the scoreline.

The first half had been a relatively even affair, but the second half was a different kettle of fish altogether. Dundee came flying out of the traps and could have added to their lead on several occasions.
 
They finally did so after 57 minutes. A superb cross field ball found McLeod again, who beat the keeper all ends up with a dipping shot in to the far corner. Moments later McLeod grabbed his hat-trick, beating the Montrose keeper to a long ball before rolling the ball into the vacant goal.
 
The final goal of the game came with 20 minutes remaining, a quite superb chipped effort by Birmingham from the edge of the area wrapping up the points for the visitor's
