Dunfermline Athletic Under 19s Vs St Johnstone Under 19s
Youth Cup 3rd Round
After a thrilling encounter at East End Park on Sunday, it was Dunfermline who made it through after an excellent comeback.
Both sides were out of the traps quickly with Chris Hackland and Shaun Byrne both sending efforts over the bar for the home side.
With a first half full of chances, both teams looked like they had the means to score, but the first real moment of note came after 35 minutes. Ross Millen managed to collect 2 yellow cards in the space of a matter of minutes, to leave Dunfermline with an uphill task to make it through to the next round.
Their progression seemed even more unlikely when, after 10 minutes of the second half, McIntosh put the Saints in the lead after a neat finish.
Dunfermline were not be outdone though, & midway through the half they found their equaliser. A fine cross from the right was met with a lovely side footed finish from Shaun Bryne, ensuring an exciting end to the game.
The ten men battled on, & with just a few minutes to go they found their winner. Blair Henderson ran it from half way, slaloming his way through the St Johnstone midfield before cracking his shot in off the left post.
