Park Villa Under 15s vs Rangers SABC Under 15s
GADYFL A League
Park Villa were looking to take last week's fine form against Clydebank into today's crucial league match against Rangers SABC. The Gers sat in 4th whilst Villa were one further back in fifth going into the game. However, the home side knew they could still catch runaway leaders Blantyre Vics with victory in each of their game in hand. And the quest started today with a stern test.
The game started with Villa on the front foot and they could have scored in opening seconds. John Ball chased down the visiting defence defence from kick off and from five yards out he hit a low drive which struck the post.
Villa continued to press and were rewarded in controversial fashion. A throw in for Villa in final third lead to Liam Gallagher crossing the ball in and suddenly the referee blew his whistle by accident. The decision was a drop ball that would take place on Rangers six yard line.
The ball was cleared to Conor McAllister thirty yards out and he struck an excellent volley with dipped in off the bar to make it 1-0.
Villa had a glorious chance to double there lead before half time. John Ball was released down the wing and played a lovely cross to Brandon Dowie, who narrowly headed wide from close range.

The second half started with Rangers coming more into the game, but despite the increased possession the visitors never troubled the Villa goal.
Park Villa doubled there lead when Conor McAllister slipped in Alan McLuskey, who took it by the defender and slotted it past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
It was nearly three when an Evans Lamboh shot rebounded to John Ball who could not adjust in time and ended up sending it wide.
Despite a full blooded last ten minutes, Villa held on to secure three vital league points and boost their title hopes.
