Six separate goal scorers for the visitors aided them in their convincing win over the hosts, Real Fife, in the FFDL Second Division.

Real Fife nearly got off to the perfect start when agile frontman Sebastian Torkovski rounded Kirkcaldy goalkeeper Conner Auchterlonie and fired his shot from a tight angle, which was then heroically cleared off the line by the powerful defender Steven White in the opening minute of the match.

Minutes later, Kirkcaldy winger Mitch Carstairs got on the end of a lofted ball and managed to coolly poke the ball past Real goalkeeper Aaron Buchannan in the fourth minute of the match to put the visitors ahead. Kirkcaldy’s lead was soon doubled when fullback, Tyler Coventry found his attempted cross nestle in the top left corner in the 8th minute of the match. I’m sure he will claim it as a shot, however.

Kirkcaldy continued their dominance in the early stages of the match which resulted in both White and Amadu Buh coming close to adding a third, in the 15th minute of the match. Buchannan pulled off a tremendous save in the 18th minute of the match to deny Carstairs from doubling his tally at close range.

The third was finally found by Kirkcaldy when tricky midfielder Naari Ruzaag danced his way through the Real Fife defence and sent a low powerful shot into the bottom right corner, in off the post in the 20th minute of the match.

Real Fife made a great effort to get back into the game before the interval when Torkovski managed to get a shot away, which was firmly denied by Auchterlonie in the 25th minute of the match. This was then followed by another great save from Auchterlonie, denying Connor Kemp this time from close range in the 30th minute of the match and also being the final chance of the first half.

Kirkcaldy were unfortunate not to go four ahead right at the beginning of the second half, when Carstairs once again managed to break through the defence but was denied by an exceptional Buchannan save in the 36th minute. A fourth was eventually sealed when substitute Corrie McKenna sent in what appeared to be another cross which found the top left corner of the goal, in the 38th minute of the match. Once again, I’m sure he will claim it as a shot.

After an immense amount of pressure after conceding, Real Fife finally got their own slice of luck, through winning a penalty after some nice build up play. The penalty was clinically converted by Kemp in the 55th minute of the match, pulling one back for the home side.

This comeback was not to last, as James Fish managed to get on the end of a loose ball and score from an acute angle in the 62nd minute of the match, restoring the visitors four goal advantage. The rout was finished off by Buh in the 67th minute, who was finally rewarded for his aggressive pressing throughout the match and tucked it past Buchannan and claiming Kirkcaldy’s sixth.

Aaron Buchannan - Very difficult day for any goalkeeper. However, was directly responsible for keeping the score much lower than it could have ended. Very impressive performance.
Naari Razaag - An absolutely terrific performance from the tricky midfielder. Constantly terrified the Real Fife defence with his out of this world footwork. A great strike for his goal as well.

The goal that eventually came for Real Fife was richly deserved and came from a lovely build up that resulted in a penalty which was converted fiercely.
The third goal for Kirkcaldy was a fantastic bit of individual brilliance from Ruzaag. Taking on three defenders then smashing it into the bottom right was delightful to say the least.
