A double from Ally Alcorn helped Pitfour keep up their 100% record in the Maryfield League. The striker netted in either half after Dylan Wright opened the scoring.
Both these teams have title aspirations and came into the match unbeaten. Fairmuir keeper Shaun Watt was called into action to keep out Kairn Brand’s strike after five minutes.
Matthew Glen was teed up by Ally Alcorn but could only fire a shot into the side netting as Pitfour looked to capitalise on their strong start to the match.
Dylan Wright fired wide from the edge of the box before Fairmuir’s Marcel Motyka tried his luck from distance but didn’t trouble Archie Kelly-Barton in the Pitfour goal.
These sides were showing why they had only conceded a handful of goals between them in the opening games of the season, as both found clear-cut chances hard to come by.
Pitfour broke the deadlock eight minutes before the break when Andrew Allan diverted Alcorn’s corner into the path of Wright, who turned the ball home from close range.
Allan had the ball in the net moments later but was adjudged to have handled the ball before slotting it past Watt.
There was still enough time remaining in the first half for Pitfour to double their lead, with Alcorn grabbing the goal. A free kick on the left touchline appeared to give the striker the chance to cross the ball for a teammate, but he opted to whip the ball over the diving Watt straight into the net.
