DDYFA Results Round-Up 26/08/18

It was another full fixture card in the DDYFA with top spot up for grabs in multiple leagues.

Here’s how the action went down:

 

U13s

Doubles from Blair Ross and Nathan Petrie helped Broughty Pumas to a 5-3 win over Forfar Boys in Group A of the Jubilee Cup. Kyle Hodge also netted. Celtic Boys and DUSC both picked up wins.

Kyle Thaw scored twice as St Andrews Colts beat Arbroath Lads 4-3 in Group B. Henry Mackie and Aaron Stewart completed the scoring.

Kyle Peacock scored twice for Fairmuir, with Cameron McMurchie also netting, but it wasn’t enough to stop them going down 5-3 against Montrose. Carnoustie beat ACSC 9-2.

Monifieth made it three wins from three as they beat Dundee West Royals 4-0 in Group C. Dylan Barnett, Harris Shepherd, Seb McLeish and Fraser Yule grabbed the goals. Brechin beat Dundee Thistle 9-4.

Robbie Watson scored a hat trick as Blairgowrie kept up their 100% record in Group D. Ross Cannon scored twice, while Caleb Robertson, Peter Rutherford, Harry Watson and Kacey Brown all scored in their 9-0 win over Dundee SC.

Dundee West Reds beat Mearns 9-0 and Montrose Vics beat Ferry 7-2.

 

U14s

A late goal from Scott Hamilton handed Carnoustie Panmure a win in their opening game of the season in the DS Rennie League. The defender turned home from a corner four minutes from time to grab his side three points.

Carnoustie opened the scoring through Dylan McLeish, who delivered a cross-cum-shot that flew into net, but the lead would prove to be short lived as Max Patterson drilled a low shot into the corner to bring Broughty level.

In the second half, an own goal from Fergus Scott put Carnoustie back in front, only for Broughty to equalise again through Freddie Holmes.

With four minutes to go, Hamilton struck from close range to win the game for Carnoustie.

Stuart Heenan scored four times as Fairmuir beat Forfar 9-1. Leo Norrie scored twice with Finlay Garty, Harrison Smith and Reece Suttenwood all netting.

Pitfour beat Dundee West Reds 4-1, Montrose won 5-2 against DUSC and Riverside picked up a 9-0 win over Celtic Boys.

Sol Campbell scored four times as Maryfield beat Kirrie 9-0 in the Watson McInally League. Dillon Gurang, Kyle Johnston, Nairn Gaffney, Euan Patterson and Shayn Hart all netted.

Newtyle won 5-0 away to Dundee SC, while Mearns and Dundee Thistle both won 3-1 against Dundee West Royals and Monifieth respectively.

Brechin and ACSC drew 3-3, while Broughty Panthers and St Andrews played out a 4-4 draw.

 

U15s

Torran Juggins bagged four goals as Pitfour beat Dryburgh Athletic 7-0 in the G Taylor League. Sonny Simpson completed the scoring with a hat trick for the East Region Cup winners.

Ryan McGregor scored twice as East Craigie Swifts beat Riverside 5-1. Cammy Blacklock and Mark Ross were also amongst the scorers. Celtic Boys beat Ferry 3-0.

In the W Mills League, there was a big win for St Andrews Colts over St James, Monifieth beat ACSC 2-1 while DUSC and Montrose drew 3-3.

 

U16s

Doubles from Ryley Duncan, Lewis Hutton and Luke Miller helped Dundee West to a 6-3 win over Broughty Panthers in the Maryfield League.

Hutton and Duncan gave Dundee West a 2-0 lead, but when Cavan McLaren missed a penalty Broughty were kicked into life.

Haaris Ahmed scored twice either side of Liam Jones goal to put Broughty 3-2 ahead, but the lead was short lived as Miller headed in to level the score before half time.

In the second half, Duncan and Hutton both found the net before Miller completed the scoring with an outrageous volley from the left touchline.

It was Deja Vu for Fairmuir as they beat Riverside 5-1. Graeme Stewart scored twice, with Jamie McCann, Robbie Flynn and Nick Fletcher all scoring.

Kai Finnie scored twice as Pitfour beat Carnoustie 6-2. Ben Clos, Finnie and Matthew Glen all netted before the 15-minute mark, but Jay Black and Khalid Bjeirmi scored either side of half time to hand Carnoustie a life line.

The game’s sixth goal went Pitfour’s way as Finnie doubled his tally before Dylan Wright and Kieran Forber completed the scoring.

Celtic Boys held champions Monifieth to a 3-3 draw. Dylan Young and Josh Gordon gave Celtic an early lead before Monifieth turned the game around with three first half goals. Gordon’s second late on secured Celtic a point.

There were wins for Dundee Thistle, Letham Tangerines, Letham Whites and Forfar Albion in the Bodycare Complimentary Clinics League.

 

U17s

Four goals a piece from Jake Grady and Nairn Bonnar helped Fairmuir to an 8-0 win over Lincraig in the Dave Pullar League.

Ross McDowell’s double helped Monifieth to a first win of the season. Mason Inglis-Doran and Bryce Ness also scored in their 4-0 win over Dundee Thistle.

Ryan Smith scored a hat trick as Dryburgh beat Riverside 6-1. Ferry beat Kirrie 5-1 and Broughty won 4-0 away to Brechin.

 

U19s

Ahmed Drammah scored a hat trick as Fairmuir Violet beat Carnoustie 6-3. Jay Taylor, Kieran McWilliam and Steven Abbot all netted.

Forfar West End beat East Craigie Swifts 2-0, Kirrie beat Dryburgh 2-0, Ferry Blues won 5-2 away to St Andrews, Ferry Yellows won 8-0 against Brechin and Dundee

North End beat Arbroath Vics 4-2.
