There was plenty of drama in the first set of midweek fixtures in the DDYFA, including a contender for match of the season.

Here’s how the action went down:

U13s

Lucas Goff was Broughty Pumas hat trick hero as they beat Celtic Boys 3-0 in Group A of the Jubilee Cup. DUSC beat Forfar Boys 8-2 while Dryburgh beat Kirrie Thistle 9-0.

Aaron Stewart and Kyle Thaw both scored twice in St Andrews Colts 7-3 win over Fairmuir in Group B. Charlie Colquitt was also on target, while Reece Hutton, Brody Williamson and Marley Wright got Fairmuir’s goals.

Carnoustie Panmure picked up their first win of the season as they beat Montrose 2-1, and ACSC won 9-1 against Arbroath Lads.

Monifieth Athletic hit the goal trail against Dundee Thistle in Group C to make it two wins from two. Harris Shepherd scored four, with Seb McLeish making two hat tricks in as many games. Thomas McClachan, Ryan Williamson, Niall McDonald, Fraser Yule, Harley Tierney and Lewis Raeside also found the net.

Blaine McManamon netted five times as Dundee West Royals beat Riverside 7-2 in their first 11-a-side match, while Brechin City beat Broughty Panthers 4-1.

Dundee Sporting Club picked up a 4-1 win over Montrose Vics in Group D. Tyler Hutchinson scored two, with Bailey Chaplin and Aidan Thomson also netting.

Blairgowrie made it two wins from two with a 7-3 win over Dundee West Reds. Robbie Watson scored four times, with Harry Watson netting twice. Ross Cannon was also on target.

U14s

Dilon Gurang scored a hat trick as Maryfield beat Mearns 5-2 in the Watson McInally League. Sol Campbell and Kristian Gibson were also on target.

Mark Small scored four times for Dundee SC as they picked up their first win of the season. Logan Brough also netted in the 5-3 win against ACSC.

St Andrews Colts beat Dundee Thistle 5-3, while there were wins for Arbroath Lads, Monifieth and Newtyle.

U15s

Ferry Athletic picked up their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Dundee West. Ferry had keeper Lewis Burns to thank as he kept out Kyler Van Der Toorn’s first half penalty before second half strikes from Charlie Massie and Jack Moir secured the points.

Sonny Simpson scored five times in Pitfour’s 8-2 win over Riverside. Torran Juggins bagged a brace and Jamie Selfridge completed the scoring to hand Pitfour their first win of the season.

Two late goals cost Kirrie Thistle in their Angus derby against Forfar Boys. Jake Kettles had given Kirrie the lead, but it was Forfar that ran out 2-1 winners.

Ryan Hutton scored twice in East Craigie Swifts 6-0 win over Broughty United. Cammy Blacklock, Riley Nelson, Ryan McGregor and Jordan Adam also netted. Celtic Boys beat Dryburgh 7-0.

U17s

A late free kick from Ross Hazel handed Fairmuir three points from their Dave Pullar League match with Ferry Athletic.

Early goals from Jake Stewart and Greg Breen gave Ferry the upper hand, but Fairmuir responded through Nairn Bonnar 10 minutes before the interval.

Owen McColgan netted from the penalty spot a minute before half time to make it 3-1, and a minute after the restart Bonnar tapped in his second after Ferry keeper Connor Milton produced a wonder save to deny Jake Grady.

Jamie Timmons soon brought Fairmuir level from the penalty spot before Milton produced a series of top saves to keep Fairmuir at bay. The keeper’s efforts were rewarded when McColgan fired in a free kick after 80 minutes to put Ferry 4-3 ahead, but Kane Hynes ensured their joy was short lived with a close-range header a minute later.

With two minutes to go, Ross Hazel’s low free kick evaded everyone in the box and bounced past Milton into the bottom corner to seal a 5-4 win for Fairmuir.

It was honours even in the Dryburgh derby as Dryburgh CC earned a 1-1 draw against Dryburgh Athletic.

Goals from Simon Sharpe, Callum Howe and Liam Clark helped Broughty United to a 3-3 draw against Jeanfield Swifts.

Riverside and Lincraig both kept up their 100% records with wins over Monifieth and ACSC respectively. Kirrie Thistle beat Brechin 3-0 and Forfar Albion won 5-0 against Dundee Thistle.

U19s

Kier Gardiner and Hayden Burr both scored twice as East Craigie Swifts beat Brechin 6-0. Dryburgh beat Dundee North End 3-2, Forfar West End won 4-1 against Kirrie and there was a 3-3 draw between Carnoustie and Arbroath Vics.
