DDYFA Results Round-Up 26/04/18

Written by

There was plenty of action on Thursday evening as the title contenders in multiple age groups faced off.

Here’s how the action went down:

U15s

Four was the magic number in the U15 age group as Dundee West, Monifieth and Fairmuir all netted four times to pick up three points.

Cavan McLaren scored all four of Dundee West’s goals as they beat Pitfour 4-3. McLaren scored twice early on before Jordan Turnbull and Ben Clos brought Pitfour level before half time.

McLaren completed his hat trick just after half time before Ally Alcorn levelled the tie again. With two minutes to go, McLaren won the game for Dundee West with his fourth of the evening.

Monifieth also won 4-3, beating Riverside to extend their lead at the top of the table. Ruari McQuillan scored a hat trick with Aiden Lorente netting the winner late on. Riverside’s goals came courtesy of an own goal, Ben Garrick and Adam Flynn.

Fairmuir beat Celtic Boys 4-2 to keep up their 100% record in the league. Graeme Stewart netted twice with Jamie McCann and Liam Hunt also on target. Cody Logue was on target for Celtic.

U16s

Two goals in the space of a minute were enough for Fairmuir to see of Ferry Athletic in the Maryfield League. Matthew Nelson hooked in the opener before Rory Jagusinski curled in a second late in the second half, as Fairmuir continued to chip away at Dryburgh’s lead at the top of the table.

Fairmuir broke the deadlock four minutes from the break. The ball fell to Matthew Nelson at the edge of the box, and he hooked it up and over Milton into the net.

The hosts wasted no time in adding a second as Ethan Samson stole the ball 25 yards from goal and rather than go himself slipped in Rory Jagusinski. The former Broughty United man made no mistake with the finish, curling the ball into the side netting.

U17s

Kier Gardiner and Ethan Coupar scored twice as East Craigie Swifts beat Forfar 4-2 to put themselves on the cusp of the Dave Pullar League title.
