The effects of the winter weather mean there’s no time to rest for many DDYFA sides.
Here’s how the midweek action went down:
U13s
There was no cup final hangover for Carnoustie Panmure as they picked up a 4-1 win over Montrose in the Café Royale League. Charlie MacPherson, James Paterson, Dylan McLeish and Ben Blackley were all on target.
U14s
Fairmuir picked up a 5-1 win over Dundee West in the DS Rennie League. Mark Ross and Ryan McGregor both got doubles, with Riley Nelson also netting.
Broughty United bounced back from their weekend defeat to Celtic Boys with an 8-0 win over DUSC. Leon Winterton scored twice, as did John McGlashan. Lewis Grant, Kier Hannan, Kerr Jolly and Sam Terroni completed the scoring.
U15s
It was a good night for Monifieth Athletic in their pursuit of the G Taylor League title. Aiden Lorente bagged a hat trick as they beat a depleted Dundee West 9-0. Bartosz Kwiatek got a brace, with Dylan Ferguson, Ruari McQuillan, Cammy Watts and Arran Ferry also netted.
Monifieth’s title bid was also aided by Pitfour’s 2-2 draw with Fairmuir. Ally Alcorn fired Pitfour into the lead, but a double from Jamie McCann gave Fairmuir the advantage. Kai Finnie’s goal ten minutes from time ensured both sides a share of the spoils.
A late double from Jay Bryce earned Carnoustie a 3-2 win over Montrose. Conor Macfarlane was also on target.
It was honours even between Broughty Panthers and Celtic Boys. Ryan Carr gave Broughty the lead but Cody Logue’s 20th goal of the season earned Celtic a point.
U16s
Kane Hynes got a double in Fairmuir’s 4-1 win over Blairgowrie. Logan Bonella and Jamie Timmons helped secure three valuable points in the Maryfield League.
Ross McDowell was Monifieth’s cup final hero at the weekend, and he netted all three of their goals as they beat Kirrie Thistle 3-0 in the W Mills League.
