Inverkeithing United youngster Alasdair Davidson rang in the new year in some style as he signed his first professional contract at Celtic
Davidson's impressive performances caught the eye of a number of clubs throughout Scotland, but it was the Hoops who came in with an offer to join the club after a successful trial period at the club.
His coach Jamie Kinnear has been an ever-present in his life, and was ecstatic at the prospect of his pupil joining the Glasgow giants.
On the club's Facebook page Kinnear posted, "Alasdair has been with us from the very start & although we only formed earlier this year Ali has been under my coaching wing since he was 5 years old. Alasdair was once a shy wee boy would had to be dragged along to training by his Mum & Dad as he was so shy!
"Ali has developed into a lovely lad & a fantastic player with bags of confidence & the ability to match. He is a credit to his parents Lesley & Russell who have been a massive support to me personally & to Inverkeithing United over the years.
"We are all very proud of how he has developed & we wish him all the very best with this fantastic opportunity at Celtic."
It's incredibly pleasing to see a young Scottish footballer take his first steps into the professional game and everyone here at Youth Football Scotland wishes Alasdair the very best at Celtic.
