Scottish Cup day had arrived on Inverurie and what a match the spectators were in for as Jeanfield Swifts made the 2 hour drive to Aberdeenshire to take on Inverurie Locos. Locos have been in fine form with some great results in the league this season.
Swifts were bolstered by the return of Boyd Ferguson for this fixture. Ferguson had a broken eye socket and cheekbone and there isn’t a better way to return than in a Scottish Cup tie.
Locos were on top in the early exchanges of the game and had a few half chances to draw first blood on Halloween weekend however they were to no avail.
It was the visitors who took the lead against the run of play after a long range effort by Richard Donavan was only parried by Locos keeper Keller Emslie and Cameron Ogg was right on the spot to tuck the ball into an empty net to give the Perth outfit the lead.
Both sides struggled to get a foothold in this game and there was a lot of occasions after the goal where there was a lot of hot potato stuff and a lot of pointless balls and decisions directed by both teams.
Locos drew level after a great ball from Jordan Cooper found Jamie Lind who took the ball within his strive and then volleyed into the roof of the net.
Jamie Lind was showing some promising signs up front for Locos and he got himself on the score sheet and it was a delightful goal to please the spectators after the forward received the ball before hitting a 1st time shot past Jordan Kinnon.
It was all guns blazing for Locos after that point and in the 27th minute it was 3-1 after Jordan Cooper played a great ball into the 6 yard area and Cameron Watt was there to guide the ball home for the Aberdeenshire men.
Locos all but put the game to bed on the stroke of half time after a great ball by Mitchell Cheyne from his own area found Watt who slotted the ball past Kinnon.

With Locos having a three goal advantage when the 2nd half started, there was less pressure and less intent for the hosts to press for more however they did have a few good opportunities in the early part of the 2nd half with Josh Bolton having a great effort on goal which forced a good save from Kinnon.
Cameron Ogg of Jeanfield Swifts almost reduced the leeway when his goal bound effort was on the edges of crossing the line until Graeme Cochrane cleared it at the last possible moment to restore the hosts 3 goal advantage and maintain a good comfort zone for Inverurie.
Locos are a very good attacking side and this showed with this goal, a good throw in evaded the Jeanfield defence and landed at the feet of Josh Bolton whose effort dipped into the bottom right hand corner.
A comprehensive passage into the 4th round in the end for Inverurie Locos and they will be looking ahead to the cup draw with ambitions as a team they can get into the latter stages this season.

Jamie Lind, a real handful for the Jeanfield defence who couldn't handle his strikes and his pace.
Cameron Ogg. Didn't deserve to be on the losing team who gave the Locos defence problems.

Jamie Linds 2nd goal, a touch of class!
Jeanfields only goal. Credit goes to the goalscorer however before it Richard Donavan delivered a great shot for Emslie to deal with.

Cameron Watt, Inverurie Locos striker said "It was a great win for our team and I would quite like to have a home fixture again in the next round. We beat Fraserburgh away last week and a good win today so we are high on confidence."
