Gourock got back to winning ways with a very good performance against a tricky St Cadocs team. It was all one way traffic in the first 30 minutes with the home side passing well and creating a number of good chances. They were rewarded when Michael Houlighan put in a perfect free kick and Declan McCourt was first to side foot it at the near post.
The YAC should of doubled their lead with a Brendan Sharpe header cleared off the line just before the interval. It remained 1-0 in favour of the home side at the break. Half Time: Gourock YAC 1-0 St Cadocs YC
Gourock started the second half well and Sharpe was rewarded this time, racing clear of the last defender and coolly slotting home to double his side's advantage.
Dale Hardie in the YAC goal had a solid game, pulling off a couple of saves at vital points in the match, with McDade, Roberts, Fisher and Alexander in the defence doing their jobs well and making sure St Cadocs never got back in the game. Sean Dinning then found Robert Hall at the edge of the box who volleyed past the keeper to cap off a very good performance from the left winger. Gourock wrapped the game up in style with a team goal from the hard working Scott Lindsey after good play between Dinning and Daniel Mcgachy. A very good day for Gourock and a much deserved three points.
