Gowdie progressed to the next round of the Scottish Cup with a comfortable win away to St Mirren at the weekend. Calum Gow returned from suspension at the back whilst Gary Hynes, Cameron Harkins and Connor Forrester were all given starting slots.

It was Hynes who opened the scoring when he drilled home an early penalty after Dan Finnigan had been taken down in the box. Matt Todd & striker partner Forrester then got a goal each before Gow nodded home the fourth.
Another Hynes penalty made it 5-0 before Harkins helped himself to a double before the break giving Gowdie a seven goal margin at half-time.

Todd added his second and Gowdie’s 8th on the hour mark before two absolute stonewall penalties were turned down by the referee who was beginning to feel sorry for the home side. Substitutes Craig Kelly & Jonny Dyer both added their name to the scoresheet as Gowdie ran out convincing winners.

It’s back to league business this weekend for Gowdie when they travel to Easterhouse to play Phoenix United.
