The Erskine Youth FC Invitational Tournament was a great success with nearly 1000 players playing over the two weekends, ranging from the young age of 4, to the not so young age of 40. Some tremendous finals and cracking football and even the wet weather for the soccer 7s on the Sunday could not dampen the players and spectators spirit’s for enjoying the football.
The tournament organisers received positive feedback from teams about the setup and the schedule for games which was kept to a minimum to stop teams from hanging around between their games. The impressive winner’s podium along with the confetti blowers when the winning team were getting their trophy, made it look like something that could rival the champions league final. The nice effect was added due to it never been seen before at such an event.
Talking to the team at YFS, Neil McMurchy had this to say about the tournament; “It was an excellent two weekends of football, I can’t wait for next year already, let’s hope we can make it even better.”
The tournament organisers would like to thank all the committee members and helpers over the two weekends, which if it wasn't for their hard work the tournament would not have been a success.
Congratulations to all the winners -
