With the Olympics on the horizon, Hampden Park, Scotland's national stadium, was out of bounds as the usual venue for this tournament and that meant the proceedings would be moved to Paisley's very own St Mirren Park and that saw St Mungo's, who are no strangers to these finals, come out on top in this hard fought encounter.
With an inspirational crowd getting behind them, both teams started well and it was on the twelth minute when St Mungo's Peter McMenemy punished the Calderglen rear-guard when he caught on to a through ball, left the defence behind him and calmly put it past Mark Russell to open the scoring.
As the first half went on, both teams were physically on par with each other, with the Saints' Ross Maguire constantly troubling the Calderglen back four and Greg Reoch coming close at the other end of the park, both sides went in at half time with the Falkirk side one goal to the good.

Half Time: Calderglen HS Seniors 0-1 St Mungos HS Seniors
After the interval, it didn't take the East Kilbride side long to get back into it and on fifty one minutes, David Cameron levelled the scoring when he put a glancing header past Conor Cassidy in the Saints goal and lifted his teams spirits.
Four minutes later however, Calderglen's joy was short lived, when Saints' number 16 won the ball in the box and thundered it past Mark Russell and restored the Falkirk sides lead.
The game seemed to ebb and flow with half chances at either side of the park and it was on the sixty fifth minute when Calderglen's Greg McNair played a great ball in the box which was met with the head of Jonathon Black, who put it beyond Connor Cassidy, but unfortunatly for him, the goal was ruled out for off-side.
With eighty five minutes on the clock, St Mungos could have sealed their victory when their number Liam McRoary's shot looked goal bound but his effort was thwarted when Luke Reid cleared it off the line and sent the ball to safety.
With full time looming, McRoary, again put pressure on the Calderglen defence when he hit a sure-fire shot towards the Calderglen goal, but his effort went agonisingly wide of the post, but that wasn't to matter, as the referee blew for full time not long after, and St Mungos went out well deserved winners.
