Erskine took the short trip to Seedhill to take on St Mirren and came out on top in this captivating Cup tie.

From the start, both teams were looking well up for it, with chances and creativity at both ends of the field.

As the first half progressed, Erskine started to get a firm grip on the game and on thirty four minutes, Saints failed to clear from a corner and when the bounce of the ball found the head of the towering Jordan Verrecchia, he nodded the ball home and open the scoring.

Five minutes into the second half, Erskine continued to stamp their authority on the game and when Lewis Kinnaird made a sublime pass to Adam Forde, the little hit man comfortably put it beyond Calum Mathers and doubled the Erskine lead.

Five minutes later however, Adam Forde again, won the ball in the box and fired it past the unlucky Saints stopper and made it three-nil.

For periods of the game, St Mirren were confined to their own half, but they did show some good resistance to the onslaught that was Erskine, but it was on the fifty eighth minute when Lewis Kinnaird stampeded down the wing leaving his marker and the contrails behind him and played a clinical ball to the charging Paul Kane who then slid it past the Saints goalie and made it four-nil.

With an hour gone, the Buddies pulled one back when they found themselves in the final third and when Anton Di Cristina caught on to a loose ball from eighteen yards out, he fired a cracker past Robbie Kelly to make it four-one.

St Mirren tried to pull it together and on occasion they did threaten the Erskine back-line, but it was without success and on seventy two minutes, their cup dreams came crashing down even more when Adam Forde got his hat-trick, when he connected well with the ball in the danger area and slammed it past Calum Mathers.

With full time looming, Erskine continued their relentless attack on the Saints goal and when Man of the Match Adam Forde caught on to the ball inside the box, he rifled a shot past the Saints keeper and completed the days scoring.
