Late Leven strike sinks Aberdour in thriller

Aberdour got the game started in a positive way with strong tacking and good ball movement across the park, a couple of early chances went to Conor Hay and Craig Mictchell. 
With Aberdour dominating the early stages of the game, they were rewarded with a goal on the 26th minute through a free kick taken by Mark James, the ball was deflected on the way towards goal, wrong footing the Leven keeper and in the back of the net, 0 -1. 
Five minutes later a long through ball by Aaron Lindsay split the Leven central defenders and gave Conor Hay a one on one with the Leven keeper which he calmly took with a sweet strike past him, 0 – 2. 
This seemed to wake Leven up and resulted in some sustained pressure towards half time; two goals with in two minutes on the 40th and 42nd minute levelled the score and gave them a life line for the second half, 2 – 2.

The second half started much the same as the first with Aderdour dominating possession in the early stages, a midfield run by one of the Leven players resulted in a shot into the corner of the net against the run of play, taking Leven into the lead, 3 – 2. 
Aberdour picked themselves up and continued to work there way back into the game and were rewarded with an equaliser on the 25th minute from Stuart Blake, 3 – 3. 
Aberdour continued to push for the winner with good chances for Craig Mitchell and Conor Hay and at the same time racking up the corner numbers. 
Then with only minutes left Leven were awarded a free kick on the edge of the 18 yard box which was converted with a clean shot into the back of the net, final score 4 – 3.
