Written by
It's Scottish Cup time!
This weekend clubs from all around the country will compete for a place in the fourth round draw of the Scottish Cup, which will be made on Tuesday 6th November at Hampden Park.
The first two rounds of the competition saw teams compete in regional ties, but this weekend will see clubs travel far and wide in the pursuit of Scottish Cup glory and YFS is priviliged to be along for the journey.
We are proud to be filming 40 of this weekend's ties, stretching all across the country and it's safe to say that we are expecting a lot of intriguing matches. You can purchase any of the games below by clicking here.
Bonnyton Thistle vs Giffnock SC Reds U14
Giffnock SC Reds will make the relatively short trip to face WOSYFL side Bonnyton Thistle. Bonnyton have started the season positively, sitting in third place in the West of Scotland U14's league whilst Giffnock currently hold a mid-table position in the Paisley and Johnstone League, although the West Region team will be on a high after a convincing win in the Gilbert Baird Cup against Harmony Row.
Deveronvale vs Tranent Colts U16
Tranent Colts have a long journey up north as they come up against ADJFA side Deveronvale. The SERYFA side currently sit at the summit of the SERYFA U16's third division with a perfect record, whilst Deveronvale have had a difficult start, winning just one of their league games so far, though they did notch up an impressive win in the Presidents Cup against Formartine United.
St Cadocs YC United vs Lenzie YC U17
Lenzie have quite a favourable journey in terms of travel but will be made to work on the park against St Cadocs YC United. United have started the season well, climbing to third in the Paisley and Johnstone third division, whilst Lenzie have had a mixed start to life in the CSFA B League, sitting in the mid-table position.
Livingston FC Community vs Banks O'Dee Albion U15
Banks O'Dee Albion make the long journey down south to take on WLAYFC strugglers Livingston FC Community. Livingston have been rather unfortunate so far this season and will believe that they should be higher up the WLAYFC A Legue table. Albion on the other hand are flying, unbeaten in their opening seven league games and occupying second spot.
Claremont AFC vs Dyce BC U15
Dyce will make the journey to Claremont confident that they can secure a fourth round spot and why shouldn't they? The Aberdeenshire side are unbeaten in the legue this season and sit in third place in the ADJFA A League. Claremont, however, also have reason to be confident. They occupy second spot in the LFDA B League and have only lost one match all season.
Dunipace FC vs Gleniffer Thistle U13
One of the more difficult games to call this weekend. Dunipace sit top of the FVFDA League and hold a nice four point advantage at the top. Gleniffer Thistle on the other hand sit third in the Paisley and Johnstone first division and will certainly feel like they can get a result away from home.
Dalkeith Thistle vs Renton Craigandro U13
Free-scoring Renton Craigandro will travel to Dalkeith full of confidence. Having won four out of four in the league, scoring 24 goals in the process they face a Dalkeith Thistle team that hasn't quite hit the ground running yet. A recent morale boosting win against Bonnyrigg Rose Whites could be what is needed to kick-start their season.
Dyce BC Whites vs Westerton United Whites U13
Westerton face a long journey to Aberdeen to take on Dyce BC Whites. Westerton Whites go into the game with mixed fortunes, sitting mid-table in the Paisley and Johnstone first division, whilst Dyce BC Whites haven't enjoyed the start that they would have wanted. The ADJFA A League side will be hoping the home tie advantage will be enough to change their fortunes.
Blairhall Villa vs Kemnay FC U13
Two teams enjoying their first foray in the Scottish Cup. Kemnay haven't made the greatest start in the ADJFA C League Section 2 but will no doubt enjoy the trip to Blairhall, who secured a great victory against Letham Sky Blues in the last round.
East Fife Youth Academy vs Bayside FC Athletic U14
It's an all Fife affair in this tie at Bayview Stadium. East Fife YA have had a decent start to the season in the FFDL first division, sitting in fifth place, but they will know that they have to be on top form to beat table-toppers Bayside, who have yet to lose in the league this season.
Carse Thistle vs Tranent Colts U13
Carse Thistle will fancy themselves as favourites as they welcome Tranent Colts. The FVFDA side harbour outside hopes of league glory, with the Central Region side sitting in fourth place. Tranent Colts hve ambitions of their own, looking for promotion to the SERYFA first division and are on decent form themselves, picking up 12 points in their opening seven games.
Dunblane SC vs Milton U17
Familiar opponents for both of these Central Scotland FA sides as Dunblane host Milton. Dunblane are sitting well, sharing the top of the CSFA B League whilst Milton find themselves second from bottom. Dunblane are clear favourites but anything can happen in the cup and Milton will definitely be well up for this game.
Colony Colts FC vs Milton Rovers YFC U14
Two teams looking to build up some momentum clash in this tie in Aberdeenshire. Colony Colts sit just four points off of ADJFA C League Section 1 leaders Westdyle Thistle and Milton Rovers hold a mid-table position in the LFDA B League, trailing leaders Mill United Colts by eight points with a game in hand.
Salvesen CFC vs Claremont AFC U13
Salvesen know that they will be in for a game when they welcome LFDA A League leaders Claremont. The visitors have lost just one game all season and travel to Edinburgh on top form. Salvesen have had a decent start to 11-a-side football, occupying a place in mid-table in the SERYFA first division, but know that they will have to push themselves to their limits to progress in this competition.
Livingston FC Community Red vs Portobello CFA U13
An all South East Region affair in this one and a tough one for Livingston as they welcome SERYFA first division leaders Portobello. Livingston come into the game on good form though, sitting in second place in the WLAYFC, though Portobello will certainly be favourites having won all six of their league games this season.
Rosyth FC vs Northstar CFC Cubs U14
It's East vs North as ADJFA C League Section 1 leaders Northstar travel to Fife to take on Rosyth. Cubs go into the game with five wins out of five in the league, whilst Rosyth have hd  mixed start to the season, with nine points from nine games.
Third Lanark AFC vs Earlston Rhymers U17
Two mid-table teams in their respective leagues clash as Third Lanark take on Earlston Rhymers. The home side only sit four points off of top spot in the CSFA B League, currently occupied by Drumchapel United, whilst Earlston Rhymers have played four, won two and lost two.
Syngenta Juvenile Colts vs Glenvale AFC U13
Two teams that are struggling in their respective leagues will be hoping that this match will result in a change in fortunes. Syngenta hve lost six from six in the CSFA B League, while Glenvale sit second-bottom in the Paisley and Johnstone second division with four points from seven games. Expect a closely fought game as these two sides do battle.
Falkirk FCF vs Newmachar United U16
A Scottish Cup tie at the home of former two-time Scottish Cup winners Falkirk. Newmachar's league position perhaps doesn't reflect their quality. In three league games this season they have one win, one draw and one loss, whilst their opponents sit in mid-table with five points from five games.
Colony Park vs Port Glasgow Juniors CSC U17
A close game here as Port Glasgow make the journey north to take on Colony Park. The home side have just one win from six matches so far in the ADJFA B League and Port Glasgow Juniors have six points from five games. This one looks to be very closely contested.
Dalkeith Thistle vs Stirling Albion JA U15
Stirling Albion JA go into this game in terrific form. 10 wins out of 10 in the FVFDA League sees them sit top of the table as they travel towrds the capital to take on a Dalkeith Thistle side who sit 10 points off of top spot in the SERYFA second division with two games in hand.
Bathgate Thistle Black vs Clydesdale FC U13
Another difficult game to cll as two mid-table sides go head-to-head. Bathgate Thistle Black sit in seventh place in the WLAYFC A League, with seven points from six games. Visitors Clydesdale have a similar record with nine points from six games in teh CSFA B League, notching up three wins and three losses in the process.
Palace Park vs Deveronvale U14
Deveronvale's long journey to face Paisley and Johnstone side Palace Park could work in the home side's favour this weekend. Palace Park sit towards the bottom end of the second division with just five points from eight games, while Deveronvale have seven points from seven games, plcing them in  mid-table position in the ADJFA A League.
Ellon Meadows vs Dundee United SC U14
This one could go either way as both sides haven't made the best starts to their league season. Dundee United SC make the journey north having lost six out of six in the league and secured passage to the third round of this competition via a thrilling penalty shootout against Lumphinnans United. Ellon also sit towards the bottom end of their league and eased past Banchory Boys in the last round to set up this tie.
Rutherglen Glencairn vs Riverside FC Athletic U19
A vast difference in form between these two but form is often thrown out of the window in big mtches such as these. Riverside FC Athletic go into their match this weekend with just eight points from nine games this season and sit second bottom of the FVFDA League. Rutherglen on the other hand are looking good in fourth place in the Paisley and Johnstone second division this season.
Lasswade Thistle vs West Park United Navy U14
Another gulf in ability on paper in this one. Lasswade Thistle were crowned SERYFA first division champions last season and though they haven't hit the heights from last season, they are still a team to be reckoned with. West Park United Navy therefore go into the game under no pressure. The bottom side in the CSFA B League will be looking to cause perhaps one of the greatest upsets in Scottish Cup history this weekend.
Spartans FC Youth vs Irvine Meadow U13
A difficult one to judge here. The extremely large WOSYFL U13's league has Irvine Meadow bang in the middle of a whole host of competitive teams whilst Spartans haven't enjoyed the start to the season they would have hoped for, sitting bottom of the SERYFA first division.
Dundee West Reds vs Falkirk FCF Whites U14
Two more sides looking to make their mark in this famous competition. Falkirk make the journey towards Tayside in decent form ahead of their match against Dundee West Reds. 16 points from nine games is a good return for the WLAYFC side whilst Dundee West Reds will be looking to make home advantage count, with six points from five game in the DDYFA DS Rennie League.
Musselburgh Windsor vs St Peters FC U19
St Peters FC have a difficult journey to make towards Musselburgh as they look to turn around their dip in fortunes. With just five points from nine games things could certainly be going better for the Paisley and Johnstone first division side, whilst Musselburgh, if they win their three games in hand over league leaders Leith Athletic in the SERYFA U19's League could easily see themselves in title contention this season.
Valleyfield FC vs Hutchison Vale U17
Valleyfield and Hutchison Vale could contest one of the ties of the round this weekend. Hutchie travel to Fife to take on a tem in fine form, sitting second in the AFYFC Division 1 table, but Vale travel in good form as well, sitting third in the SERYFA first division with 10 points from six games.
Kemnay FC vs Bo'ness CFC U17
Bo'ness will find themselves up against it as they travel north to tke on Kemany in Aberdeenshire. Kemnay are in good form and have an outside chance of challenging for the ADJFA B League title, whilst Bo'ness are sitting towards the bottom end of the CSFA C Legue, with just three points from six games.
Syngenta Juveniles vs Dunbar United Colts U15
Two teams of great quality and in good form is a recipe for a potential classic. Syngenta are six points clear at the top of the CSFA A League so far, hving lost just one game, whilsr Dunbar are lso well in a title hunt, in second place in the SERYF second division, four points behind leaders AC Oxgangs with  game in hand.
Rosebank Thistle vs Currie Star FC U13
Rosebank Thistle are in great form so far this season and will need to be at their best this weekend as they take on high-flying Currie Star. Rosebank are well in the title picture this season in the CSFA B League, sitting in sixth plce just three points off of top spot. Currie are in second place in the SERYFA first division and are unbeaten all season, a fact that will surely be on the minds of the Rosebank players.
Drumchapel Amateurs vs Hampden Weir Recreation U15
Drumchapel Amateurs are free-scoring in the GDYFL at the moment and will need to carry on tht form to beat a strong Hampden Weir Recreation side. Two wins out of two for Drumchapel, scoring 17 goals is the kind of form needed to go toe-to-toe with Hampden on the form they are in, sitting fourth in the Paisley and Johnstone league with 15 points from seven games so far.
Salvesen CFC vs Auchinleck Talbot U19
Another match were two mid-table teams clash. Auchinleck Talbot make the journey towards the capital in good form and sit in a mid-table position just six points away from WOSYFL league leaders Bonnyton Thistle with two games in hand. Meanwhile Salvesen sit mid-table with seven points from six games.
Cumbernauld Pumas vs Riverside CSC U14
Cumbernauld Pumas have a tough task ahead of them as they prepare to welcome Dundee side Riverside. Riverside sit second in the DDYFA DS Rennie League and sit five points off of top spot with two games in hand, hving just beaten leaders Fairmuir last week. Pumas on the other hand are in fifth place in the CSFA C League, with nine points from six games.
Blantyre SA Black vs Largs Colts U17
Largs Colts face a tough journey to take on CSFA A League high-flyers Blantyre SA Black. Blantyre sit in third place in the A League, having taken 12 points from their opening five games. Largs have taken six from five and appear to be the underdogs in this particular battle. Colts will need to perform to the top of their capbilities if they hope to cause an upset.
Colony Colts vs Dunblane SC City U19
Dunblane SC City make the journey north looking to turn around a disappointing league season so far. The Scottish Cup will come as a welcome distraction for a tem who has won none of their opening eight in the league. Colony Colts have had a less than ideal start to the league as well. with just one point from three games in the ADJFA A League.
Hearts of Beath Juniors vs Heston Rovers U16
Hearts of Beath are another team hoping that home advantage will give them the edge against a strong Heston Rovers side. Rovers sit top of the Dumfries and Galloway league with a perfect record of four wins from four. Beath Juniors are sixth in the AFYFC second division with seven points from seven games.
AM Soccer Club vs Tynecastle FC U13
Tynecastle FC will be making the journey to Fife to take on AM Soccer Club. The Edinburgh based side are in a mid-table position in the SERYFA first division looking to get past a high-scoring AM Soccer side looking to build on their success in the last round against Dundee West.
Good luck to all teams involved!
