Glasgow City cruised into the final of the SWF Scottish Cup with a professional performance over a resilient Hibs side.

City had already won the league cup in May and were looking to make it to a second cup final in four months. Hibs themselves were keen to make the final and looked up for the challenge City presented.

City had started the better side and looked more comfortable with the occasion, with Hannah Scott coming close after a defensive mix up allowed her to get a shot on target.

18 minutes in and City had their first of the afternoon, Scott making no mistake this time around as she fired low into the bottom left from 10 yards out.

Hibs seemed to bounce back from this and were beginning to put the pressure on City. City defender Abbie Warren put in a brilliant last ditch tackle to prevent Eve McFadden getting a shot on goal.

Seven minutes after the restart and City had doubled their advantage, with Mhairi Crooks getting in this time and converting a low driven shot in to the bottom corner. City took over from here as they dominated the second half proceedings.

They controlled possession and had many opportunities denied by Hibs keeper Mia Smith, who was doing well to keep her side in the game.

The game was over ten minutes from time, Karsey McGlinchey with a wonderful shot from just outside the area sailed into the far left corner to put the game beyond Hibs.

City put the icing on the cake three minutes later, Monica Forsyth getting in behind and firing her shot beyond Smith to seal City’s place in the cup final.

It was a great team performance from City but Mhairi Crooks provided a real spark going forward and caused major problems for Hibs all afternoon. She got a well deserved goal to top off a great performance.
Despite conceding four goals, Mia Smith was excellent for Hibs. She pulled off a string of top class saves to keep the score down and make sure Hibs stayed .

Taylor Rose Hamill produced a wonderful bit of skill which saw her beat a few defenders and play a wonderful through ball to Mhairi Crooks. Crooks’ shot wasn’t converted but it was beautifully set up by Hamill.
Wonderful team play from Hibs seen Eve McFadden get through on goal but she wasn’t able to convert her opportunity. That’s as good as it got for Hibs who will be bitterly disappointed at their semi-final exit.
