A first half goal rush saw Glasgow Girls cruise into the final of the SWF Scottish Youth Cup at Ainslie Park, despite Cumbernauld's best efforts to get back into it throughout the second half.

It took just two minutes for the opener to come for Glasgow, courtesy of Sophie Bustard, who powered down the right touch line and her long range shot come cross flew into the top corner to get her side off to a flyer.

Another couple of minutes later and that soon became a two goal lead, Millie-Jo Ward did well on the wing and her cross was controlled and finished well by Jessica Cox beating two players in the process to stun Cumbernauld.

Glasgow could've been three up within seconds of the restart, with Olivia King seeing her strike saved by Naimh Miller and then Ward rolled an effort wide just after.

The third came after 11 minutes, King was played in on the left side of the area but Miller was out sharply to deny her only to see the ball rebound back to King who thumped the bouncing ball in on the rebound.

More chances came and it was one way traffic for the majority of the first half, Ellie McGoldrick won the ball back at the half way line and sent Ward through on goal but her shot fizzed narrowly by the far post.

King added her second of the day as she got in behind the defence, looked up and calmly rolled the ball in at Miller's near post to put her side four ahead inside 20 minutes.

Less than a minute later and it was five. McGoldrick's shot from outside the penalty area was too powerful for Cumbernauld goalkeeper Miller, who could only palm the ball in off the post.

Abbie Cusack got involved in the action in fine fashion as she strode forwards from the back and powered an effort in from long range past Miller to make it six.

Colts did occasionally manage to break out but they had already let six past them by the time they registered their first meaningful chance of note, the ball falling to Leona Japp inside the box but she was denied by keeper Nicole Cunningham who scrambled across to keep the shot out.

Glasgow had gone close with numerous corners in the opening period and were eventually rewarded when Japp tried to clear her lines but unfortunately for her, ended up looping the ball into her own net as the sides went in 7-0 at the break.

The second half proved to be a different game entirely to the first period, and Cumbernauld started brightly with Lauren Smith seeing an early effort saved by Cunningham.

Glasgow were back down the other end a few minutes later, King put the ball into the box and Ward cleverly turned her marker but watched agonisingly as her effort bounced back off the foot of the post.

King then had a further two chances to add to her sides lead, one curling narrowly wide of the top corner and the latter being kept out by Miller.

Rhiannon McLeod slid through Kirsty McKenzie on goal for Cumbernauld but Cunningham was quickly down low to deny her and keep the clean sheet intact.

Going into the final ten minutes and Glasgow pushing for more. Olivia King put a wonderful defence-splitting pass through to McGoldrick who's effort that was heading for the top corner was brilliantly kept out by Miller.

Colts had a few attempts in the closing minutes that were either saved or didn't trouble the keeper, and despite their best efforts, the game came to a close at 7-0.

Niamh Miller - the keeper for Cumbernauld made numerous top saves despite the harsh score line - it could've been much more of it wasn't for her efforts.
Ellie McGoldrick - Despite only scoring once she was a problem for the Cumbernauld defence all game and was involved in numerous moves. Her link up with the likes of Ward and King was excellent and any of the three could've taken it.

Niamh Miller's save to deny Ellie McGoldrick in the second half. The attacker was clean through and must've thought she'd scored, only to see to palmed away by the keeper.
Sophie Bustard's opening goal - whether she meant it or not is a different question that only she will know the answer too. Regardless, it flew into the top corner following a strong run down the right hand side to get her side off to a flyer.
