Central Girls 15s Captain Ellie Kane believes being crowned SWF Cup Champions was the perfect end to a successful season.
Speaking immediately after her side's 5-0 victory over Glasgow City at Toryglen, she said: 'I was already happy coming into the game knowing that we'd won the League Cup and the League, but to finish the season on such a high is great.'
Coach Adam Young was full of praise for the way his team played in what he knew would be a hard fought game. 'I thought City would come and sit in because we've played them a couple of times this season and that's exactly what they did.'
'At one-nil at half time it could've gone either way. They could've pushed and got a goal but the girls did well; they did what we asked them to do at half time and came out and got another four goals.'
Kane believes the result was just reward for the hard work and application her teammates have put in throughout the season. 'I want to say thanks to the girls for everything they've done this season. They've put 100% into every training session and game and they deserve this.'
'A big thanks to the fans,' she added. 'It wouldn't have been the same without them.'
And what next for Central? Young is optimistic about next season, although he's aware there will be a lot of change at the club: '[The girls] get Monday off but it's back to training on Wednesday. We look forward to next year because we've got some girls moving into 17s so we'll have to restructure and push on again.'
Kane, on the other hand, isn't looking that far ahead. When asked if there were any celebrations planned she had only two words: 'Pizza Hut!'
