On Sunday 23rd January 24 players attended a trial match at Alloa Academy to try and make the squad for Season 2011. With 15 players already signed for the new season coaches Davie Wilson and Alan Palmer were looking forward to seeing the new players battle hard to make the final squad placings.
Originally planned as a friendly match against Oban Ladies (they folded as a club during the week), coaches Davie and Alan saw this as an opportunity to see all players get 90 minutes of football and to challenge those already signed into proving their place in the squad and to start the challenge to make the starting 11 for when the season starts in March.
With Falkirk finishing 3rd in the SWFL 1st Division last season and only missing out on promotion through a lack of changes in the SWF rules they are looking to secure a top 2 finish this season ensuring promotion to the Premiere League for Season 2012.
The training match was a great success with all the players getting the opportunity to see how they matched up against each other and although the weather was freezing the standard of play was very high and the game Blues v Reds ended 4-3.  Goals came from Frankie, Allana, Eva, Sheryl, Kirky and Shirley (2).  Davie and Alan will now watch the players at training this week and during their pre-season visit to the sands of Gullane on Sunday before they make their decisions.
However both coaches are always on the look-out for more players to come into the squad and if anyone is interested in playing for the Seniors drop us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
