From the outset of the match the speed and strength of Livingston was obvious to see and within 17mins we were 3-0 down to goals that were very soft to say the least.
To the our credit the guys didn't give up and we dug in and by HT we had pulled one back to go in 3-1 down.
I don't know if we were nervous or what but at 3-0 we started to play much better and for the rest of the half matched Livingston quite well.
The 2nd half might have been different had we been awarded a stone wall penalty for hand ball, however Livingston cleared and went straight up the other end to make it 4-1.
But still we didn't give up and we got it back to 4-2 within a few mins. The speed and skill of Livingston was evident to everyone and we done very well to compete right up to the 90 mins. As Livingston were not going to ease up in their play at all even when 7-3 up.
Well done to Murray for his 2 goals both very good finishes and no doubt he has been practicing his tight angle shots / crosses.
It was a hard day for our guys with no games since early November and very little training done due to the recent bad weather but, we dug in the best we could and everyone fought hard to the end of the game.
Well done to Livingston on a strong assured performance and all the best in the next round.
