Blackburn United Awarded Coveted
Full Community Club Status
The Scottish Football Association held their latest Quality Mark awards ceremony at Easter Road Stadium on Saturday 8th January ahead of the Hibernian v Ayr United Scottish Cup 4th Round tie where, on behalf of the Club, youth coaches Davy Jones and Daryl Dunnigan were presented with the prestigious full SFA Quality Mark Community Award by ex-Hibs striker Keith Wright. Hosting the awards along with Keith was Jim Fleeting, Director of Football at the SFA, who recognised our continuing dedication to good practice and our hard work and endeavour in raising the standards of player and coaching development at the Club, along with the management and administration required to continue to develop a sense of Community belonging.
Davy said "The whole day was an experience Daryl and myself thoroughly enjoyed, although the Cup tie wasn't the best game I have seen this season!" while Club Coaching Co-ordinator Brian Smillie said "This is a fitting reward for all the hard work done by so many at the Club and will hopefully see United reap the benefits of good practice in the future - both on and off the field".
