The Under 13s disposed of Caledonian with ease after a commanding performance. In the opening minute Thistle hit the bar when a corner was whipped in to the far post but the no 8 could only direct his 6 yard header onto the bar. 3 minutes later Tass struck the upright as their no 9 cannoned a 20 yard shot off the post. Tass were rewarded for their early pressure in the 15th minute with the opening goal. A low cross was drilled into the 6 yard box and after an old fashioned stramash the ball was eventually bundled home. 2 minutes later Tass doubled their lead. The integral no 8 fed in no 6 and he fired a stinging 20 yard drive that fizzed off the post and into the net to stun Caledonian.
Caley looked to respond and in the 23rd minute the ball fell to the feet of their centre half 8 yards out but his scooped effort was headed off the line. 4 minutes later Caley were hit on the break by Tass and their no 6 got on the scoresheet again, heading in a corner that the goalkeeper completely missed at his near post. In the 28th minute the Tass Thistle goalkeeper picked up a pass back and a direct free kick was awarded on the 6 yard line. Caley dragged the ball to their full back at the far post who saw his effort hit the post and bounce back to the goalkeeper who initially spilled the ball but he scrambled back and clutched the ball before it could cross the line. That passage of play had some of the crowd rubbing their eyes in disbelief but they were equally stunned by the heroic Thistle defence minutes later.
On the half hour mark a cross from the right was beaten away by the keeper and Caley had 3 attempts to score the rebounds but each of them were blocked on the line by 2 Tass defenders. A phenomenal and breathtaking passage of play just before half time and somehow Caley had failed to score. The last minute of the 1st half Thistle hit the woodwork for the 3rd time as their no 7 crashed a 16 yard volley off the post.
In the second half the tempo declined and Tass successfully stifled the midfield to cruise to victory. The Caley no 17 forced 2 good saves whilst Tass had another effort hacked off the line in the opening 15 minutes of the half. In the 58th minute Tass put the game beyond doubt by adding a 4th goal. Their no 12 sweeping home from close range under the keeper. 4 minutes later Tass added more gloss to the scoreline when no 8 nodded home another vicious delivery from the right side.
