AC Oxgangs went top of the SERYFA 16s Division 2 after defeating Edinburgh City 3-1 in sub-zero conditions at Meggetland 3G.
On the day, both teams could have snatched a victory, but it was Oxgangs who secured the points with two goals in the last five minutes.
Edinburgh City took an early lead when Blair Lumsden placed his penalty into the bottom right corner after a foul in the left side of the penalty area. Oxgangs kept pushing for an equaliser and City goalkeeper Ben McGinley was on form to keep them out until the 36th minute. Oxgangs substitute James McInally struck a powerful shot into the bottom left corner after a neat attacking move between his teammates, Michael Addison and James Williamson.

Both teams had
opportunities to score in the second half, but it was not until the
75th minute that Oxgangs took the lead. Central midfielder
Joe Posnett headed into the centre of the net from a Kolle Davis
corner.
Oxgangs added their
third in stoppage time. Gavin Reid’s shot from 16 yards found the
net after Callum MacKenzie’s dribble opened up the City defence.
